gt28r "disco potato" good up to?
i have a friend that says the disco potato is good for up to 590hp. i think that is hard to believe even with a built tuned motor. but he doesn't seem to think so. any thoughts on this?

he's building an sr20 and he is convinced that it will support up to 590hp. i told him that it is way to small to support that much but he says there are guys out there that have done it before.

he is smoking crack.
my sr20 with an s14 t28 and supporting mods makes 200whp @14psi.
the turbo will not flow enough. just look at the compressor map

the turbo AT MOST will flow enough for about 360 crank horsepower... and that is tapped out

I won't be surprised that your friend read about the GT28RS supporting 590HP on a Skyline GTR... Well, because there's two of them on a Skyline for a twin turbo setup
It works out just perfect, 590 HP divided by 2 = 295HP which is perfectly within the efficiency range of one GT28RS turbo.
