Default Grounding Systems.....

I have been looking at grounding systems such as the Apexi Super Grounding System and the Racing Spec Condenser...both of which say improve the engine efficiency by 5 hp or more! Does anyone have one of these and does it work? Thanks.

(Flame suit on) 5HP or More?!?! Pure BS. On an old car with corroded grounds, some improvement may be noticed under high current demands (starting, etc). On a new vehicle, the stock system is adequate and will do it's job nicely. You stand a better chance of screwing something up trying to "improve" the ground system than getting any performance "gains".

Depends on the install. Someone posted a Mugen grounding kit that looked horrible.

http://www.kingmotorsports.com/category.aspx?cat=4 This is one that I found, but there is no information supporting gains. However, I have seen both sides to this story.

Well said Grounding kits are absolutley pointless on a new car ... do nothing more than clutter your engine bay

I remember when i saw an article in import tuner like 2 months back it said the "5hp for $5" mod for k20's and what they did was snipped all of the ground wires for the coils and ran a steel plate across the valve cover and put terminals on the wires and screwed them to the plate. Then they ran like a 8-10 gauge wire fromt eh plate straight to the battery grouind and they dynoed it for 5 extra horses to the wheels, i think across the whole board. I wonder if our cars will benefit from that too.
