Default RPM on auto 4cyl at 70mph?

Quick question.. whats the rpm at when your going 70mph?

Trying to see if my accord shifts properly or not. I know it slips on the high way if i try to accelerate when it down shifts.. Just trying to figure if i should drive it on the highway or not.. so i can wait till spring to swap in an auto LSD tranny in. Dont want to destroy the tranny yet..

VTEC has no effect on transmission gearing. What you're thinking of is the difference when the torque converter locks up.

Anyway... my '99 auto is at 2500 rpms @ 70 mph.

no it has no effect on transmission gearing, but the different lobes clearly effect rpm, that was my point.

Well, that's still not quite accurate. The different lobes only cause changes in the lift and duration of the valves, and don't affect rpms.

Stop freaking out. Just because I sent you an IM and your computer crashed doesn't mean that I am attacking you. And if you want me to stop IMing you, you should've said that over IM instead of bringing it here and getting the thread off-topic. I'm done talking to you.

i had a 1994 LX non vtec and the 70MPH cruise was 2800 rpm in 4th once the car warmed up. if you car is not warmed up your rpm will be about 500 or so higher as ECU will not allow tq converter to lock unless engine is at proper operating temp. IF you notice that your rpm are higher now that it is cold outside , I would check your tstat or coolant temp sensors in that order....
