Default Best Tires for the MDX?

What are my options? I don't know anything about SUV tires.

What kind of driving do you usually do? Mostly on-road? Off-road? Snow? Rain?

You have to be a little more specific.

Actually this is for a friend. I would like to know in general and for future reference.

Just regular city driving, no off road at all. Hot, dry times here in Arizona.

Are there Bridgestone Potenza's in this size? Yoko's?

For mostly on-road driving only, Michelin LTX series would probably be best. They have the best treadlife and road comfort.

Bridgestones are good, too, but from my experience, you get more life out of the Michelins, although the Bridgestones perform a little better. But, since the tires will be for commuting only, I'd opt for the Michelins.

I'm new to SUV's too. What I was told for the mdx, is choose the tires just like you would for any car.

I'm not sure what size wheels your friend is running, but I just checked edgeracing.com for stock size 255/55/18. They had Falken, toyo and Pirelli's. Some Pirelli Pzero's should be really nice on the MDX.
