Default Dented FMIC - Should I be worried?

I'm very close to purchasing a Greddy turbo kit from 1 of 2 members on TI and HT. The setup between the 2 members are very similar. Only real difference is the intercooler. One has a Greddy 24 intercooler, the other from Spearco.

The Spearco intercooler is mint. The greddy is a different story. Here's a pic:

Is this something to worry about? Will it affect boost at all?

The reason I'm asking, although the kits are very similar, the price difference between the two kits is around 2-300.

One other thing. The kit with the dented intercooler, also has the greddy turbo where there is some nicks on the compressor wheel. Here's another pic:

The kit with the spearco intercooler...the turbo looks to be in mint condition. Anyhow, just wondering what you guys thought.

Im not an expert on turbo markings, but why would Greddy put a Mitsubishi emblem on their turbo?

get the good spearco core. The top dent doesnt worry me much but that bottom one is rank . Its just the outer fins really , unless the bars are leaky . Just get the good one.

Yeah man, in the end $300 will probably save you a lot of headaches, plus $300 extra is not that much and can be looked upon as insurance for a good kit. Plus you might be able to talk the kid down to around the same price as the other beat up kit.

you could buy an intercooler off ebay for extremely cheap. you dont want that thing in the front of your car all banged up. Once you get all the work done your going to look at it and say wow I should of bought the other one. my 0.2

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. I'll definitely go with the "good" kit. I did talk to the guy with the dented FMIC, and he said he did pressure test it, and it was fine. Who knows really.

What's weird, and I probably shouldn't have done this, I posted the same question on homemadeturbo.com and all I got were two responses. One told me to swallow a knife because the website is called HOMEMADE turbo not Greddy. I mean, c'mon. If I would have stated that I'm looking at a turbo kit with a dented up FMIC and an 18G turbo, would they have given me the same flaming BS? Bunch of idiots. Its a turbo. Who cares if I did it homemade style.

Another person called me a N*GGER! What the hell is that all about? Bunch of racists if you ask me.

The intercooler is a Greddy intercooler. They're expensive in my opinion. But that doesnt mean the design is great. From what others have told me, the Greddy FMIC isn't that great.

Neither of these responses would have surprised you if you knew anything about HMT.

Oh ok. Wow, its amazing how freely they say racist remarks over there. Its crazy.

Anyhow, thanks to all who have helped. I already indicated to the guy with the dented up FMIC, that I will pass on purchasing his kit. I've told the other guy, I'll be going with his. I'll probably have it in my hands by Wednesday night.
