Whats up I need some info tryin to buy a 96-00 aftermarket radiator but, I need to know if it will fit my 89 Ef which has a d16 in it. Any info is helpful. Thanks!

The reason why I did this install was non-availability and/or sky-high prices for an EE8/EF8/SiR radiator.

Take a small angle grinder and a Dremel and cut this piece out of the front chassis:



Finish, spray, put tectyl and some rubber to protect the bottom of the radiator. I used some vacuum hoses and cut it lengthwise:



A bracket on top from aluminium strip:



This setup works best with a slim fan:



Finished install, hood closes smoothly. The original pilars for the bracket on the radiator top and bottom have to be cut.

When connecting the bottom hose I found out that a small piece of the cross member need to be cut also to fit the hose. The hoses and the bracket keep the radiator firm in place.

NOTE: this install was done on a SiR. I don't know about fitment on other types, without the SiR hood.

i HAD the same setup. it was put in the same way as crx2003's is.

for the filler neck to clear sometimes u gotta chop up the hood also.
