Default Gearing in a auto and manual are the same???

I have a b16a1. I was wondering if the gearing in a auto and manual are the same??? If so could i swap the auto trans in a manual casing??? Do i need a special case if i want LSD???

considering an auto has 4 gears and the manual has 5, my guess is no, the gear ratios aren't the same. Why do you want an auto tranny anyway? I don't think it is possible to swap an auto tranny into a manual case, I wouldn't even know where to begin...just buy a JDM tranny w/ an LSD.

Nope, the auto's gearing is much taller.

..and both an Auto gearbox and Manual gearbox casings are pretty different. The AT's is like almost L shaped and rather big. The manual's is more like a box and not so big.
