Default Ran the Type-R at the strip today... Video.

Video of the 14.3 run... Do you hear some random guy yell "Type-RRRR WOOO!" while I'm revving up? Haha.

First of all, I wasn't out there seriously racing or anything, I know our cars aren't meant to go fast in a straight line, blah blah blah. I just wanted to get some good base numbers before this race season goes out. I've never driven this caR in a straight line, so I was curious to see what I could pull.

The track wasn't hooking for **** today. First few times out I kept spinning, tried a few different approaches and just bogged. And the last run of the day I found a decent blend of the two, and actually had a decent launch.

My times for the day:

Reaction - .5550
60ft - 2.2819
1/4 - 14.5110
MPH - 95.33

Reaction - .6887
60ft - 2.2823
1/4 - 14.5322
MPH - 95.33

Reaction - .6019
60ft - 2.2663
1/4 - 14.5510
MPH - 95.53

Reaction - .5100
60ft - 2.2369
1/4 - 14.5087
MPH - 94.97

Reaction - .5020
60ft - 2.1931
1/4 - 14.3728
MPH - 96.20

Not the greatest times, but consistant at least. If the track had stayed open for a little bit longer, I think I could have hit some lower 14s, maybe 13.9 if I could have figured out a good enough launch technique.

But over all, it was a good day.

Drag racing ITRs... Hahahaha. Silly me.

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering, modification list:

-TODA Header
-Omnipower Testpipe
-DC Sports Exhaust
-AEM 3" CAI

Ran with stock wheels in front, with Falken Azenis 205/50/15 at 20psi. No weight reduction, just ran it like it sits.

Clutch is still holding up pretty good, Ryan. It was barking down the track nicely, only started slipping towards the end of the day.

10s, huh? I'd love to see an ITR run 10s, that would be badass, do it.

You need lots of practice then....

Your hatch with an R swap should be well into the higher 13s.

most of the strips around here do not require safety equipment (cage, helmet) unless you are running 12.9 or faster....

at least that was the rule a few years back when i had my eclipses....

Thanks for the input guys.

pennies_hatchie, 13.9999 and faster need helmets... I only hit 14.3728, so it wasn't needed. I always bring mine anyway, one of my friends always forgets theirs...

"Dude, this is bullshit, they're making me wear a helmet!"

"What did you just run?"

"10.4..."

"... Here's mine."

I'm the slowest one in my group, it's annoying.

Should have done your burn out in 2nd gear instead of 1st gear.
And don't lift off the throttle between 3-4th gear change.

Other than that good times man

The kid that bought my 1st gen Rex and RS teg (motor/tranny swap) is doing high 14's with just a header and straight exhaust.

I thought about it... But honestly, I'm not trying to put that much strain on my clutch, it was starting to slip towards the end of the day, I didn't want to test it even more.

I'll give the 3rd-4th "No lift to shift" technique a try, I've never done it before.

Wasn't trying to power shift, last time I did that with heR, something went wrong, the clutch didn't engage (No I did NOT misshift, I had the pedal in, I know I did, but it felt especially gummy... Something happened), and I ended up spending a lot of money that I really didn't need to spend... Bad times.

I was just taking it easy on the shifting, first-second was about the only time I pushed it.

I really think if I got some 22" slicks mounted, I could hit high 13s... Might try that when they reopen in February.
