Default 96-00 civic type r's, do they have sunroofs ?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to fully convert my 00' hatch to a CTR/Si, I have all of the guts for the interior, and i have converted all of the wiring to the si, I even integrated the wiring for the rear wiper and washer motor; cruise control, p/locks, p/windows, p/mirrors, factory key-less entry, and i have installed all of the wiring for the sunroof too! There's just one problem, there's no usdm 96-00' hatch that I'm aware of that comes with a sunroof! I have a doner sunroof out of the 00' Si and and i want to do the install, but splicing roof skins sounds like a pain in the ***, my body guy is very skilled but still it worries the **** out of me! plus I would have to have a custom headliner made out of my stock one and the 00' si one! So I was wondering if the ctr's came with sunroofs in japan and if so I am seriously interested in locating those parts, talk about some rare jdm parts if available! If anyone can hook me up with the info I would greatly appreciate it! i know this sounds crazy, but i want my car to be a one of a kind! and i'm on my way to getting it there! thanks guys

No CTR had the moonroof. However, a lot of UKDM/EDM EK4s (VTi) and EK3s (ESi) had moonroofs.

ok so is this a factory moonroof, is it a sunroof, cause a moonroof just vents or the glass is stationary! and is it possible that this roof skin is available through a factory dealer outside the us, u said ekdm which is europe right, so what is edm? and thanks for the info!

UKDM = United Kingdom Domestic Market
EDM = European Domestic Market

They are different when order some interior parts because one is LHD and the other is RHD.

The moonroofs (glass that opens up) as opposed to sunroof (not glass, or sometimes glass that doesn't open fully) are from the factory. You can order the roof skin with headliner, but expect to pay a whole lot for shipping if you can find a dealer to ship to the states.

i work in a body shop and we had a 98 hatch we cut the roof in half and put the front half of a 99 si roof on with the sunroof and motor. turned out really nice and looked like it was straight from the factory. if you have the skills or money id say go that route

Sunroof is part of the outside metal. Like when it's closed, the metal roof goes, the metal sunroof begins, then the metal starts again.

A moonroof is glass, called a moon roof b/c u can "see the moon even when it's closed" opposed to a sunroof where it has to be opened.

Most moonroof's also have a shade that you can pull so the sun doesn't bother you.

Really isn't rocket science:

Sunroof:

As you can see when the sunroof is closed it becomes part of the roof - a metal matching piece that blends, that's why you can only see an outline here.

And another one:

Moonroof:

oh and for u also bro it's a new york thing to call it a moonroof, cus my girl's from there and that's what she call's it, secondly a moonroof is a see through piece of glass that is stationary, or vents only, a sunroof is either a solid piece of metal or can be glass also, that has full function, open/close and vent! if u go to the dealer and read a list of options that a new vehicle has it is always called a sunroof! a moonroof is that aftermarket piece of **** that the guys at ur local stereo and custom shop butcher!!!!!!!

You are 100% completely wrong! I have a '99 EX Coupe with a Moonroof! It vents and opens/closes! Go to KBB and get a blue book value on a '99 EX Coupe and notice that it states that Standard Equipment is already selected! You dip ****!
