HOW TO PRIME THE OIL PUMP ON B18C1 FOR A FRESH REBUILD.
We just put my engine back togheter after a blown head gasket and so i put new piston rings and other goodies.
Now im trying to figure out if there is a way to prime my oil pump to get all the juices flowing ahead of time so there is no abnormal wear..
Also what procedures should i do to set timing and adjusting my CAM gears.
Thanks GUYS..

its not a SBC you cant really prime the pump... actually you can pull the ECU fuse and crank it like 10times then throw the fuse back in and start it up...
i have never done anything like that before. i just cover all the internal parts in oil and assembly lube so it has lubrication during that first second the oil cant get there...

Remove the allen plug on the oil pump 9behind the alternator) and use a skurt can to fill it with oil. Replace the plug and crank with out spark plugs and fuel pump. Should take 20 seconds to get pressure.

You can use a cheap 1 gal vegetation sprayer. Remove the oil switch and isntall a pipe fitting, install some hose between the fitting and the sprayer (remove sprayer jet first), fill a clean sprayer with a few qts of oil, pump and hold. It takes 5-10 minutes but you will fill the engine and pump oil to all the bearings. It's a temporary accusump.
