HELP B16 TO GSR BLOCK PARTS CHANGE OVER
Well, I bought a gsr block to put in place of my blown b16. I pulled the b16 block out tonight and started changing stuff over to the gsr block ( the alt and stuff like that.... I came across were you screw the oil filter on and my part fom my b16 does not fit on the gsr. it goes on but the threads to put the oil filter on do not show .. its like they are to short. Here is a few pics.. also the hoses from the b16 dont line up at all with the gsr block. can someone post a pic up of a gsr block all together in the back? or maybe this has already been thought after. I did a fast search but did not turn up what i am looking for.
part that will not let the threads show to screw the oil filter on the gsr (part is from b16 block)

This is the gsr block the threads are to short and wont show when i put the above part on /\ also what goes in the empty hole with oil hanging out of it?

This is the b16 block with the part taken off it.

That's an oil cooler. There was a part that threaded through it and into the block. You have 2 choices.
1) Don't run the oil cooler on the GSR block which means you'll need to switch the water pipe that runs from the pump to the 'stat housing.
2) Unscrew the threaded do-hicky on the GSR filter mount and use the one that was on the old block.
Not sure what you're talking about with the "oil hole" comment. Are you talking about where the catch can bolts? (black boxy sheet metal thing).

You can try. I'd want to have the oil cooler on the new motor too. Not sure exactly how you'd unscrew it. Don't forget the water lines too. Oil cooler isn't a cooler if the water lines aren't hooked up.
