Default Project

Well. Its time for my first official project car. I have a 1991 honda civic si with lsvtec. My plans have been for a long time to find a black crx si and fix it up and swap over the engine. I live in WA so the opertunity doesnt come along too often to grab a black crx si for cheap. I found one about 6 months ago but then got shafted out of the deal. But just recently I found one again. My long wait was over. It was a black 1990 CRX Si. It has a b15b7 in it (not sure why). The fenders and hood were dented too much so the guy chucked them and got white ones. It kinda sucks that it didnt come all black. But thats what a project is for right?

The dash is in alright condition but the rest of the interior is pretty much taken apart. Its there but not bolted down. Oh and the Si seats are gone . I will need new door panels. The guy before me was an idiot and put some other kind of fabric on them and used that spray glue ****. So now it has this weird crap all over the pannels. Not sure what else to explain right now but here are my plans.

First I will need to work on the body. The passenger side door is pretty messed up but I will attempt to pull the dents, sand, and bondo it. The fenders I am also going to be sanding. The hood im not sure what to do about. It has a fist size dent next to the honda symbol right on the crease. So I might be able to pull most of the dent out, sand it down, and bondo it to look better but im also looking into getting a CF hood. The bumper has scratches all over it so that will also be sanded and just one small part will require just a dab of bondo. One rust spot that has been cleaned up just needs to be sanded and get bondo in it. The rear of the car is looking good. I need just a few things for the exterior but not much. After all of this is done it will be painted black again.

Before, during, or after the body work I will be taking out all the sound deadening crap and anything else that can be taken out for weight reduction. Then it will be put back together. The car came with HF seats.... lame. Even those are crapped out. So Im throwing those away and Im going to pick up a pair of black seats. From where, im not sure yet. But my goal is to black this car out.

Then I need to piece together the interior again. Get everything in line. Get new door panels and a few other misc things. Then after that its smooth sailing. Im going to swap over my lsvtec then put my friends d16a6 into my old civic and sell it. Those are my plans for now. I need to get back to sanding down the fenders. Tell me what you think so far. By the way I will have some pics up soon.

Yeah. Its going to be slow going right now with out a job. All though I dont have much money Im in the market for a few things. CRX door pannels, possibly a passenger side door, a hood, and a CRX si front bumper. The bumper I got with the car I believe is a hf or dx bumper. I found a brand new hood for about 245 bucks. Its a replica, but I hear good things about it. And its primered black already. So that would make it even easier to paint.

I have already sanded and put bondo on one fender so far. The second is partially sanded and Im almost ready to put bondo on the two small dents. Over all Im very happy and excited about this project. I really need to get some pics up.
