hola
I've got a b18c1 in a 98 civic hatch, when the temp gets around and/or above the middle my engine light comes on, does anyone know why? I am a noob and don't know much, so any helpful info is greatly appreciated. Also does a aftermarket radiator cap Really help keep you engine cooler?
Thank You,
Ronnie

The only thing I would ASSUME to guess at, is that the temp sensor is out of calibration or whatever...
But either way, pull the code the ECU is throwing... that is your key to find out what is wrong, and to then start troubleshooting.
And unless your car is boosted, or it produces so much power, that the car runs naturally hot, it is really overkill. An OEM cap should suffice for really anything you can throw at it.

Take it to pep boys or autozone or advance auto parts or some **** like that. They all do free OBD-II scanner testing.
Just tell 'em ur throwing a check engine light, they'll test it, tell you what codes you're throwing.
Then you post those codes here.

Thank you for the help, my car is not boosted by the way, just intake and "supposedly" ctr pistons, but I have no idea if it really has em, just what I was told when I bought it.
