In my 88 Crx Si, never ever heard this before. When I turn my key in the on position and the fuel pump primes, I can hear something from behind the glovebox on my dash. It sounds like you just put a movie in your vhs player and its trying to loading it, like it soounds like something mechanical is trying to do something and it keep repeating the noise, I turn the car on and I cant hear it because of the open downpipe, but its probabl still doing it

Any ideas on what it could be?

 

Heater blower motor?

 

its the mechanism that changes your air ducts from interior to exterior, sounds like it either skipped a tooth and it doesnt know where to stop, or there is something in the way blocking it and it keeps cycling back and forth, take your glovebox off and take out your blower assembely and vaccum it out and feel up there with your hand. thats all i can say.

 

gave it a few kicks, restet the computer, went for a drive, moved the air blower to all different directions, came home it it stopped, hope it stays that way....

 

then you probly have a leaf or something sucked in
could be a dead rat or squirrel........dont laugh, search for threads on it
