Default Bad clutch?

So I let my friend drive the S today, and he told me he was going to "teach me how to launch the thing". So we come to stop sign and he revs it up and takes off, he never left off the clutch all the way and burned it all to hell. We parked it at my house for like 10 minutes or so and let the stink roll out of the car.I took it out for a drive and now when I go into first and left off the clutch it stutters for a sec almost like its bogging a little bit.. All the othr gears are fine though. I did the test where i went from 2nd to 5th and and the rpms didnt jump so I dont know. Car has 61k on it. Is this a bad clutch or is this another problem?

never let anybody drive your car except you. lesson learned i hope. new clutch is $1,000 so good luck with that. could be hydrolics but most likely the clutch i think.

So will it go away when it cools down? or is the flywheel messed up?

Uh... just a little off.

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...LUTCH

Friction disk + Presure plate + hardware = $350.

Replace the clutch, take the old one and smack your dumbass friend accross the face with it.

No fawkers. A friend charges you beer/food and gives you **** while helping you. Zack is giving example of a rip-off, S@ntos' deal is a hook-up.

And I want to know what dealership was going to charge $1500 for a clutch job.

Being 18 and owning an S2000 automatically makes you a baller, so they can rape for all they get.

$1500 for parts and labor from a Honda dealer is about right.

So....

1500 minus $350(less because theyre the dealer) = 1150. 1150/$60(roughly hourly labor wage) = 19 hour clutch job!!!!!!

Recockulous. I've swapped a motor in less total time.

Chatter + reduced stiffness sounds like the springs on the friction disks are losing their tension. I'm guessing you have an AP1 with the infamous clutch buzz?

Performance wise it doesn't hamper anything. When it is time to get a new clutch though, opt for the 04+ clutches with the revised friction disk.
