I would say YES! just for the fact your hood is carbon yes, but only 1 layer and in a lot of cases just the skin. The frame itself is very thin to be light. Then the latch is fiberglassed into that frame. Your latch and integrity of it depends on just 6 square inches of your frame where it bolts on to. They use the same techniques as $150 ebay hoods. Plus to make matters worse it is made with polyester resin which is not designed for strength but designed to be low cost. This is not a knock on ViS hoods. This goes with ANY hood that uses just fiberglass in the frame. I would not trust my LIFE to that which is what you are doing. Who knows what could happen if that hood flys up! I have had personal experiance with a ViS hood flying up on the highway. Luckly it was at 1am and no one was on the highway so I could pull over and not kill anyone lol. But it did smash my windshield, dented my roof and distroyed the hood. Also remeber the lighter the hood the more of a chance it will fly up or the latch will fail. This is unless they are designed to not need hood pics, but adding the strengthing also will rise the price

I am not a big fan of hood pins but like carbonall said it could happen. So i bit the bullet and drilled into my brand new hood to put some in. I actaully kinda like them now!
If you bought it for looks on a show car then I say no because IMO hood pins look retarded when people buy them just to be cool. If you bought it for a race car then I say yes because that is what they are designed for.
