1990 honda civic std clutch safety switch
help me out here guys! yesterday i can still start my car by pressing the clutch. but this morning i can't. when i pressing the clutch all i heard is the clicking. i read one article that you can bypass this by grounding the wires. well the problem is i don't know what color of the wire and i don't know what the switch looks like. if you guys can give me a pic and procedures that really really helps.. thnx a lot guys!
Why do you want to bypass the switch? All you need to do is connect the two wires together at the switch, which is located at the top of the clutch pedal. The switch can also be adjusted for play if your switch is working sometimes or not.

no means trying to thread jack but im having this same problem i jumper the wires i have changed the starter ignition switch and made sure the ground and power are all good the car just clicks? im lost
If your car just clicks it is probably the starter solenoid. Is clicking coming from the engine bay. A low battery will also make solenoid click and not start the car. Make sure your battery system is working properly, battery is good. A way to check starter, put jumper wire to starter solenoid wire(little black wire on starter) from positive battery post, make sure car is in neutral, engine should turn over, if not your starter is bad. You can also remove starter put neg jumper wire to starter body(metal) for ground and pos jumper to (s terminal) little black wire connector. starter gear should come out spinning, if not you might hear just clicking, starter bad. Only apply pos to terminal for a couple of seconds or starter could be damaged. just touch pos jumper to s terminal, no need to completely attach.

i have tried that also the new starter does free spin when its being jumped straight from the battery and its not in the car but when i put it in the car it just clicks
check the switch for continuity when it is pressed, it should have it, when not pressed should not have it. If when pressed has no continuity switch is bad. your checking the two terminals on the switch itself with wires removed. if bad you can also just connect both wires together, but is not safe. I would also check ground that the switch connects to, might be loose.

I would check your grounds, sounds like a ground problem to me, if starter works outside of car and not init. I would also try to engage starter while installed to motor with the jumper pos wire to s terminal. See if car turns over. Your motor could be seized, from bearing or distributor shaft bearing seizing. just food for thought. Make sure battery is fully charged even though it is the same battery used to tun starter out of car. It needs alot more juice to turn engine over plus battery has to supply current to whole car to run.

Remember when you push car to pop clutch you are actually doing what the starter does, turning engine over to build compression so it can start. How old is your battery? Also did you try to jump start it to see if it will? Remember the two wires at the starter are positive. The little black wire is the wire that supplies 12volts to solenoid so it will crank(completes the circuit). The wire that has a bolt holding it on is the 12v from battery, that provides the actual current for the starter to work. starter is grounded to engine when attached. I would check voltage at the bolted wire to see what it shows when car is cranking. It should not go below a certain voltage, can't remember what the number is. Search internet.
by the way you don't have an alarm on the car. That might be causing issues also.
