sohc zc help
i have been searching and asking and stuff and i have got this info about a sohc zc swap into my 1990 LX
1. if i get the same year or later zc i can use my tranny
2. if i want a zc tranny i need new axles
3. i can use my same ecu (if i want more out of it use the zc ecu)
what i need help with is this
1.i dont know how to drive stick so i wanna stay auto for now and upgrade later so if i get a zc tranny or zc ecu did it come in auto?
2.is there anything i need to buy besides the motor and possibly ecu? like a wiring harness or something?
3.what is the most i should pay someone to do this for me?
4. anything else im missing
thank you for any help

I think I can help a little.
You can use any 88-91 civic or crx tranny with the zc motor. To stay auto and use the zc motor, you'll have to look for a PS9 ecu which came in 90-91 Civic EX automatics. They are somewhat hard to find but keep looking. I found mine for my auto mpfi swap here on h-t.
Speaking of, you will have to do a mpfi swap, which basically means wiring a few things for 4 injectors instead of 2. Search and you can find lots of useful info on it. Once you are mpfi, everything should plug right in.
Someone else can chime in if I'm wrong

Dude, your only like an hr and a half away from me. If you can wait until after X-mas I can do the install for you for a good price. Drive it up, with you helping we can have it done in a day/weekend if we need to pick up some parts. I've done 2 of my own zc swaps, one is an auto, and another for a friend. PM me if your interested.
Since you plan on keeping it auto the main thing your going if to need (and can be hard to find) is a PS9 ecu. This is the 90-91 Civic EX Auto ECU, your stock one wont work because its dpfi. I had to get mine off ebay for about $50.
Other than that, the mpfi swap, tune-up parts, coolant, oil, etc. Not much is needed for the zc swap.

do i need anything else if i decide to do a dohc zc for the same auto car?
cuz like its only $155 more for an extra 10 hp but in the end thats still a motor with ten more hp?
and will it be as easy to find parts for it like cams and pistons and rods and ****?
if not ill stick to the sohc

i decided to go with the SOHC ZC instead of the DOHC ZC because parts from a D16A6 will all coincide with the single cam.
