What brand are you interested in? Stock Hondas actually are very durable and can take a lot of bumps.

Bilsteins are awesome and had no fade over 2 grueling years in my lowered 4dr GSR. They also have a lifetime warranty.

Hondas shocks generally last a lifetime (with stock springs)- occassionally one will leak or go bad and will need replaced, but in general they last a long time. Many of honda's shocks are made by Tokico.

The shocks on my Integra were Showa's and they also come on the Honda motorcyle forks as well as the red-blooded Harley-Davidsons.
