Default HELP ME QUICKK! 91 HATCH PROB

I am looking for some answeres to questions of what happened to me today.

i put on a set of lowering springs and as i was doing the front passenger the axel slipped out of the transmission. it popped back in place... and as we did a test drive there was a wobbly movement, then the axel slipped out. now we cant get it the axel to go all the way back in the trans. its like a inch off from being locked in. when we take it off the top bushing with the cotter pin bolt(dont know name of it). it will fit in perfect. but as we move the bolt into the arm it gets that short little gap... and thats were we are stuck. when we put everything in place(bolts, tire, etc.) i can take it to like 1,000 rpms before it slips out.

someone help me out!

i got this car today, what luck do i have....

That would be the snap ring that holds the axle into the transmission. Put two and two together .

ok well the problem was solved.

when the boot ripped, a piece of the rubber somehow got inside the bearing part of the axel.... speechless.
