I currently have a 98 spec itr tranny with 4.7 fd, and lsd, on my ls. It pulls really nicely as is, but im going to swap my ls motor for a gsr motor in a few weeks... i was wondering if anyone has any experience with the gsr motor with the shorter type r gearing. Right now, with my ls motor and itr tranny, i can beat stock gsr's with this setup.

 

whatever you do.......dont go from a 4.7 final drive tranny to a stock gsr tranny.................you will hate your life for the gay long gears.

put the tranny on the gsr engine you get it will pull good!

 

I agree. I've got a CTR tranny on my turbo gsr and I love it

 

You'll like the the tranny better with the gsr motor
