B16 is a good thought. Also look at a B18 A or B (LS motor) then you can always add VTEC head later. You really need to do your own research though. Being lazy to do the homework means your car is just going to be thrown together.
save money. then do an lsvtec swap and you'll be very, very satisfied. the response from a naturally aspirated motor in a car as light as a crx is amazing. ive been driving my car for 4 years and have never, ever gotten sick of it.

i say we use that car as mine and your project car, take the bottom end from the motor thats on your garage floor and do a boosted mini-me, the whole build should be around 1300

How in the hell does your post about getting a $10,000 powerplant match the requirement that the OP set up? You'd better have a K in your car to post something so retarded.

SOHC ZC around $300-400
hopefully u have an SI or HF
bolt-on's
-headers
-cold air
-exhaust
loose some weight
-seats,rear panels,spare tire,etc
my friend had a 91 HF that could keep up with some CRX's with b16's
