Default B16a Cable Tranny Speedometer

I swapped a B16a into a 89 Si hatch for a friend. I need to know what to do about the speedometer cable. The tranny has the B16a drive in it and it looks to be missing something. There is no place to put a clip to hold the cable in. I appears to be a O-ring around the stem coming out the tranny. Do the B16a use a electronic vss ? Can I take the d-series speedometer drive out and use it in the b16? Will a integra drive work? Need to get this figured out ASAP. Keep getting VSS code. Its is a Y1 tranny I believe cable with LSD.

Thanks

So i just remove the whole gear drive out of the b16 and the d-series will go right in?

Yes the gear will fit, just remove electronic speedo gear and put in your cable gear from old tranny.
don't know about vss code though. That would depend on ecu your using, i think. I thought 88-91 receive vss through gauge cluster speedometer, so I would say just hook up speedo cable to your old gear in new tranny, your all set.

Good luck,colnago
