i took my car out for a spin...ripped once with slow shifts...it was all good...then ripped it again, this time shifting pretty hard. i missed 3rd (but didnt grind anything), got into 3rd, and then 4th, and 5th. as i slow down, i downshift to 4th. finally i slow down for a light. clutch in, and try to put it into neutral. now heres the weird part. it felt harder than usual to take it out of gear. also gettin in isnt as hard, but it still feels quite notchier than before. it only happens when getting into and out of 4th gear. ever since i got this tranny (bout 2k miles ago) i have never ever grinded 4th gear. any idea to what caused this?

cliffnotes: i miss-shifted into 3rd, but didnt grind 3rd, and now 4th gear feels really notchy...somewhat hard to get into and a lil harder to get out of. it is do-able, but takes some little force. any ideas?

 

check ur shift linkage. does it feel like it does when u try to go into first while moving a little bit?

it feels notchy because its old and tired

yes, but not as bad. however today it got a little better. weird thing is that it's only in 4th gear, nothing else
