Default weird knock sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd? anyone?

well...the first time i really got on it..when i broke in the motor....i slammed from 1st to 2nd 8k shifting....and when i slammed it into 2nd i heard a little knock...it sounds like its coming from the bay...but then again it sounds like its from the back. anyone hear this also? i dont know...if its good or bad? im thinking its because of the dbw..with the delay and all...like pause and then revving again...sorry for this noobie question.

Maybe wheelhop somehow? That is the only thing I can think of....so take it to the dealer and use that warranty.

Yea man that is wheel hop from how you are explaining it. I get it sometimes at the track and it is a bitch. The one time I swore something broke because of how hard I heard it banging. Get some stickier tires. O...do you have the all seasons or summer tires?

i have the high performance...so im assuming summer tires. but yeah...i heard it again when i downshifted to 2nd and gassed it...it was stupid of me...i should of waited till the rpms jumped but i didnt...so thats when it happend again.

edit
also notice this when im short shifting thru 1st and 2nd...like 7k shift.

a lot of it comes down to timing your shifting correctly .. IE correspondence between gas/clutch engagement. I've experienced it a time or two but only when i have a half-*** shift at high revs, other wise i'll get a nice bark from the tires or a solid tone from the engine. mounts seem to work perfectly fine for me, the two extra mounts that are implemented help reduce wheel hop.

I know the exact noise your talking about and i dont think its an issue from the way you describe it... not to say your a bad driver but as i mentioned a lot of it comes down to timing your movements just as the car likes it

yeah i see what your saying tre...i get it at times...and i feel like im getting more power...but i dont know...its like you said..timing...most of the time i get a nice bark from the tires too. but that knock sound scared me and i thought it was something bad. =/ but thanks for the compliments.....ohh yeah...raced my cousins 06 type s tonight....learned how to launch the car too...anything less than 3k will bog...so i launch at 4500. and jumped him off the line no spinning...1st and 2nd i get him...but 3rd is where we suck oh well. 100% stock for now.
