will home depot or similar places make a copy of my car key?
Actually, I'd suggest not going to the dealer. I had them cut me a brand new key from my VIN, and it was so sharp, it got stuck in my lock. The locks have worn with my keys, so they don't like the new key. Still opens the door and starts the car though
actually ima tell you now. if you get a key with a long shaft itll be kinda hard to get them to work. honda had 2 keys long and short shaft for our cars. i bought new oem keys but they were long shaft. and i work at home depot and did mine there. they work you just have to wiggle em a lil. get short shaft ones if you can and youll be fine. they key is 27 at home depot.
I got a replacement key from Honda when I bought my car. They cut it from my VIN # and it works great. Its just a little more pricey. If you are usning the key as a back-up, just get a cheap one somewhere.
