1994-1997 GSR RIMS question
I have a set of 94-97 GSR rims which i picked up from my friend. They are in need of cleaning; the top clear coat is not good. How would i go about this? I heard of sanding down the rims and then spraying it with a black color and gloss? I was also planning on selling them after I cleaned/repaint them?
Does any one have any sugguestions?

it would take a while to prep them nice, but its basically like painting anything else. sand, clean, primer, sand, clean, paint, colour sand (optional), Clear.
I also hear that waxing your rims helps preserve their finish, but personally, I think its just a stickier surface for sand and brake dust to collect on.

I can't see how waxing your rims will make it a stickier surface. Wax smoothens the surface. For example, when you wax your car does your car attract more dirt. You might notice more dirt, because the surface is glossier, but I doubt it attracts more dust and dirt. But then again, I don't know much about wax.
I have waxed my rims before and it makes it a lot easier to clean.

IMO i wouldn't paint them if i was going to sell them. I would just clean them up to look as nice and they could get and sell them. If anything painting would probably bring down the value. Post a pic of them so we can see the condition they are in.

Perhaps sticky was the wrong word. I cant say for sure, because I personally havent waxed my rims, nor do I know anybody who has. I just sort of assumed that the dirt would...I dunno...the more I think about it, the less sense I make, so i'm just gonna stfu
