Default Can Over Cooled Engine Cause High Knock Readings?

I've had my car in its current state of tune since May of 2004 using an Apexi Power FC. Initially, my knock readings would top out at 40-50. In the last 8 months, I've noticed that I'm know approaching 70-80 on a normal basis which concerns me. I haven't changed anything in the car other than the normal tune-up stuff (ignition rotor/cap, spark plugs). The one thing that I noticed is that my temp guage is always reading only one or two clicks above "C" when I'm cruising on the highway. It goes to its normal position of one click before the middle hash mark when I'm doing city driving (stop and go). I probably need to replace my thermostat but should there be anything else I should look at for these high knock readings?

P.S. Compression test looks good and I always use Sunoco 94.

is your car mostly stock? why are you using 94 when 93 available? coolant temps will normally be higher in stop/go driving, opposite for oil temps.. stock gauge isn't very accurate so its very mich a guessing game on the type of temps you're running. you want your temps to be in 90's (coolant high 80's).. if both oil and coolant are in there you shoudl be fine. as for knock sensors.. i do'nt know how much use there really is for stock knock sensor. my car is loud period from injectors to everything else rattle. could it be your cat getting loose? does fc tap into stock ecu? or does it use stock knock sensor?

I like going over the top so that's why I use 94 octane. I have intake, header, exhaust, buddy club spec3+ cams, and jdm FD. The FC replaces the stock ECU and it uses the stock knock sensor. Water temps are at 78 degrees while driving on the highway.

Valve clearances have been checked and are within spec.
