One of my exhaust studs is stripped :/
i was putting my header back on today and one of the sutds just starting spinning while i was putting the nut on and now it wont tighten
will this definately leak or do you think i can get buy without it? Its the bottomw stud second one in from the drivers side
what is the typical procedure for fixing this?

don't jb weld, you might not get the bolt back out after you put it in.

the holes for exhaust manifold studs/bolts have coils inside of them. your best bet is to call around performance shops, possibly machine shops although most machine shops won't touch your head without it being removed. there are 2 ways to repair this. one way is with helicoils (coil inserts) or timecerts (better, but should be your last resort).
in my case, i purchased 12.5 grade studs and just forced it in there, i had to replace more than one. i wouldn't recommend to replace any studs that are in good condition - you'll end up stripping more threads.
also, in future reference, try to use torque wrench, too much force or uneven pressure is probably the reason why you have stripped thread to begin with.

I found a longer stud (same size threads) at NAPA or somewhere. It fixed one of mine. Now I'm just careful about the torque on it (what is it, 25-30 ft-lbs?)
