Please Help ASAP. GSR transmission identifiaction *well searched already*
Ok heres the deal, I have a 96 ls integra, I purcahsed a 96 GSR swap off ebay, i received the swap, everything appears to be legit except for the trans, Im pretty sure in 96 it should have had a vin# on the trans, which it does not, the motor does but nothing on the trans. How can I identify if I actually got the GSR trans that i was suppose to. I have checked other threads with the gear rations but how can I use that to figure out what the trans is.? help is greatly appreciated.
other threads mention counting teath on the gears but nobody ever mentioned how to do it or what to count

Put it in, get on the highway-
(w/ ~stock size wheels) ull be @ aproxx 4000RPM at 80 MPH (5th gear)
if its an LS I think ull be at around 3600RPM at 80MPH
If you dont want to put it in the car, and theres no tag, then theres really no way to tell unless u open it up and count the teeth - i think, maybe ask in teh tech/misc. forum also?
Edit: heres a gear calc:

Not really trying to put it in and gamble on what trans it is, id rather pull it apart now while its out and find out which one it is, anyone now what teeth to count and how to tell what it is by tooth count?
Well an ls and gsr have the same gearing for 1st and 2nd gear. You're going to wanna check on 3rd gear. I don't remember how many teeth it should be, but if you do a search I know there has been threads about it.
