Y8 Swap into EF
do you have an si/hf? if so the easiest way is to re-use everything from your stock car..meaning axles,tranny,ecu,wireharness,distributor,etc...all you'll have to do is extend a wire for the fan switch and solder on a new connection so it will work right with the d16y8,,then get a chipped obd0 ecu and run turboedit 1-wire vtec, run the 1 vtec wire to a 5way automotive relay, then to the vtec solenoid,,or if you still have the a/c clutch relay and dont have a/c hooked up, you can use that as the relay.
if you have a dx then you either have to convert your wiring to mpfi ,,or convert the motor to dpfi using the dx intake manifold and distributor (dont do this though unless you just want the motor to "run")...

Use your stock harness its MPFI. Get either a OBD0-1 ECU adaptor and run a P28. It'll be less work than using a OBD0-2 due to some extra sensors you'll require (Knock, CAS, etc). If your car is MPFI you can either use your injectors with a resistor box or use the Y8's injectors without the box. You'll have to use your alternator or swap over the plug section of your alternator onto the Y8's so it'll plug in correctly. Also you will need to either repin your distributor to use the Y8's so it'll plug in or run a distributor adaptor to use the Y8's. You'll then need wiring from the VTEC solenoid ,VTEC pressure switch, and the four wire O2 to the ECU. The only other wiring you should have to do is to run the wiring for the fan switch from the bakc of the block to the Y8's thermostat housing.
