!?! C.E.L just came on !?!
Hey guys. New guy here. Maybe this has already been posted but I need little bit of help. Just got D.C. race header put on 4 days ago and the CEL just popped on right now. Any ideas? Or is it just normal? Also have Injen Cold Air installed in vehicle a week ago but no CEL came on with that. Thanx.
The race header doesn't pass emissions. However, if you use a defouler it will correct the issue.

Unfortunately, it will not pass the TX emissions test for inspection. Just as Tre mentioned. You would have to remove the header, or know someone who could pass you.

No, cops do not check the car. In TX, every year you are required to renew your inspection. In this case, 2 years from when you purchase a new Si. When you are tested, they put a device in your tailpipe to monitor the airflow. The defouler's purpose is to prevent the cel from reading the airflow from the race header. Basically, "tricking" your car to read normal levels so the indicator doesn't come on. It isn't to fix or pass the emissions.
