its been a wail...
So i haven't really been riding in about a year now, though I do ride a friends bike now and then I haven't owned one in some time.
Right now im trying real hard to get back into but the money issue is kinda hard. my situation!
Im 21 years old, in the Air Force. Im in Nebraska right now but im moving to the UK in May thank god! So far the winter here has been a little harsh but nothing too bad for me to ride in. On days that it does snow I have a buddy who lives next door to me who i work with so its all good there.
I have a 98' mazda millenia (which is one of the worst cars ive ever owned) that I'm thinking of replacing with a bike. I still have dreams of riding, when i was living back in so cal, I got about 40 hours of riding in per week. I feel like ever since i sold my last bike Ive been missing one of the most important things in my life. Like i lost my arms or something. What would you guys do in this situation?

Where are you going to? I just moved here to Mildenhall and I dig it. Keep the car you're going to need it, the weather here is really harsh for riders. The wind is always blowing, it rains almost every night and the drivers aren't the most aware people out there. Buy a bike in the states and bring it over, it's part of your household goods and will be shipped at no problem or expense. However, do expect to get damage to it from the movers. I shipped my RC51 and I have to get both fairings replaced and I'm still debating on the forks, legal likes to take thier time with it. And don't forget to save money, lot's of it!! I'd say at least 2g's or more. Are you moving into the dorms? Let me know if you have any questions about moving here or whatever.

I'm a crew chief on the 135R's. Yeah you'll be in the dorms, you gotta be SrA with at least 3yrs in. I say 2g's because the conversion rate is $2.02 american to every 1 british pound, so any amount of money you have just go ahead and cut in in half, but you're living on base so it's no big deal. I dig it here, love the people, the country, love the squadron, beats my last base (McGuire). It takes some getting used to with the driving, money and just talking to the people but after you get through it, it's fun. I'd buy a bike in the states just because the exchange rate, I went to a bike shop and saw a 01' RC51 for 4,000 pounds, which doesn't sound like alot, but when you do the math that's alittle over $8,000 bucks for us!! And I paid $9g's for my 05'!! If you're not a fan of shopping at the BX or the Commissary, you will be.
I was trying to figure out what the OP meant by the title...like he was wailing in misery that he no longer had a bike or something...
here's one guy who can't type worth a damn: diablo123131 http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.....html

I said prob cuz there are always loop holes. they have a for for anything you want and everything you will ever need. "oh you cant afford to pay back what we over paid you?"

Good luck with the loop hole, unless you're married or have kids I highly doubt it'll happen. That's another thing also, once you get here all you'll get is your base pay, no COLA, BAS nothing. A good thing is once all your paper work gets through you'll get some pretty nice size checks for back pay and what not, just be sure you're getting what you're supposed to or THEY WILL TAKE THAT **** BACK!!! No joke and that's the worste thing is thinking you have money when all you have is a big fat negative sign in your account.

Yeah i know what you mean(taking $ back). Its happened to me twice now. the reason i said loop holes is because there are (legal) ways to get around that, no I'm not married and don't plan on doing so for some time. I know how they take for ever to get paper work in, back when i use to get hazardous duty pay that took around 6 months to start. I still haven't seen a penny of my flight pay and im not even sure how long its been.
