Need help!!!, JDM B16 swap
as my mechanic and i were going over the things i need, we noticed a small problem. the distrubitor that came with sir2 engine, has one big connector with 9 wires comming out of it. it would not fit on my addapters cuz i need a dist that has two connectors. honda dealer said that i need a dist from a 94-97 del sol, but thats like 3 bills to cough up. i have a 95 civic dx wich is obd1 (it has the wiring for vtec already cuz the previous owner put a d16z6 on it). anyway, is the dist that came with my engine an obd2 or obd1? i thought the jdm b16a 2gen was obd1 and i would not have any problems. am i right or have i been sniffing too much gas this whole time hehehe. i took some pics and i will be posting them in a while. but in the mean time plz reply, plz help.
that 9 wire crap is Obd2 i guess ur JDM SIRII is 96 and up well u need and u might want to check the injector and altenator if it is a 96 motor also u will need to get a delsol B16a3 distru or a JDM B16A obd1 distrubitor
check above cylinder #4 (remember they go [dist] 4 3 2 1)
there is a stamp that will look like 9|1 9|5 9|6 in a small circle.
thats what year the engine is. hope it helps

doh!!! hehehe yah i forgot all about that. i remembrer i checked, and it said 94. thats what throwing me off, if its a 94 it should be an obd1 right. so i should be ok if i find a 94-97 dist from a del sol?
ok here is a pic of what im talking about. notice how the current stock dist hooks up with two connectors. now the sir II dist that installed on the engine only has one connector. so like mentioned, i think ill be ok if i just get a dist from a b16a3. let me know what u guys think.

what kind of car is this going in?
it dosent have an external coil does it? (had a problem like this with my friends prelude)
and it SHOULD be OBDI but for engine years, always add 1 year to get the year of the car. like i have a 94 civic but my stock engine was 93. just the way it works.

from my experiences it should just plug in.. i think that distrib was off an obd2.. just slap on a 94-95 gsr distrib or a 94-97 del slow b16 distrib and start it up.. it should work fine..
good luck
