This is not a SI problem or something new, any car with cloth seats will cause static. Just touch your key on a metal part of the door jam as a ground as you exit the car and it won't shock you.

I get shocked sometimes, the key is, hold on to the door (this is for all vehicles cuz this isnt the first car that does this to me) as you get out, as long as you dont disconnect yourself from the car, you wont get shocked.

leather seats

On my '05 LX here in CO, I hated getting shocked soooo much. But the lack of cloth in my car now makes me happy.

Not really at all. The seats are contoured very well to keep my *** in place. Haven't had any problems with tight fast corners.

Less humidity in the air in the winter cause static electricity to conduct better and also generally wearing more clothing causes the static to build up more. I get it everytime I get out of mine.
