just got my gsr rod bolts for my h22 having problem
I did some research and i found that arp gsr rod bolts will work on h22 rods so i went ahead and got some well i am having problems getting the rod caps to go back on. I was wondering if you guys knew of any tricks for this other than hitting it back on and running the risk of damaging the threads.
ARP bolts dont usually just bolt on to stock rods. You have to resize the rods to make them fit properly. Have to take it to a machine shp to do that.
I called my local machine shop and he told me that he wouldnt do it with the pistons still on the rods. I told him that the pins were pressed and he didnt want to do it for me i dont know why. He just told me to put the nut on the bolt and tap it out and then put the new one in as far as i could and then put the cap on and tighten it up until it pulled the rod bolt in. Well i did that to one of my rods and i got the cap back off but now it doesnt want to go back on.
slide the rod bolt in from the top of the rod journal. then pry down on end of bolt with pry bar. It should snap in all the way.
