If you want help, always post specs on the rebuild.

1. Very loud like how? clanking, rattling, or just the engine itself was loud, as in the intake/exhaust?

2. It idled at 3 for 10 minutes probably to fufill the ECU's warmup procedure (open loop). Once the ECU was done with that, it starts going off what input your sensors are giving it (closed loop). You probably have some wiring issues, or what sort of sounds like a faulty FITV (fast idle thermo valve).

3. What? An engine runs off of burning fuel, so theres heat in there if its running. Are you saying its not getting enough heat for the temp needle in the cluster to move?

Be more descriptive.

setup

gsr b18c1
jdm itr pistons
supertech flat bottom valves
omnipower dualsprings and retainers

..the engine was just loud...rattling a little exhaust and intake were fine no leaks
..i have a 2000 obd2 gsr and i dont think we have FITV
.. the temp needle was a quarter of the way up, maybe a little more than that

Did you verify cam timing?
Vacuum leaks?
Compression test?
Leak Down?
Coolant house routing?

Five good places to start.

What kind of noises are you hearing? How is the oil pressure--cold and then how is it fully warmed up? What does your timing look like? I know if you poured a lot of money and time into a nice build when you first start it up every little noise scares you for a bit, at least it does me!!

You might want to tighten up your IM bolts a lil more. This should fix your high idle problem.

If not you may need to take off your IM and put some Hylomar to help it seal better.

Do I get the happy meal, cHad?

Due to the crushable nature of the material and thickness, real tight could be not real tight on some nuts or un-even torque which can lead to leaks.

My nephew had high idle problems due to a heatshield gasket and RedZone diagnosed it.

for RedZone.

hmmm, not yet. he said his intake mani is "real" tight. i set my snap-on to "real" when i put heads on, and they dont leak so...

tps and map are the 2 grey plugs on your TB that look identical, and will reach each others plugs. switch em and see if it runs

wait, did you lackey-mod the plugs?

Why do you have to take it to Acura?

Im gonna go against the TPS and MAP being reversed. If there were, it would be puffing black smoke. Its not, is it?

Usually vacuum leaks will cause a high idle, but not necessarily a bouncy idle. A bouncy idle is usually attributed to something with a valve, like the FITV or EACV.
