well..it's because they are imitation rims but many of the other rim companies copy each other, also so big deal. if that's all u can afford then who cares what people think.
it's your car and your money. do what pleases yourself and not others.

thet are replica's and affordable..and come in optional colors that can make you honda look good.....if they can afford spoon then good for them spoon wheels are about $2000 to $2500 were as rota's are like $375-$500 for a set and are pretty light weight
im planning on getting some rota slips cuz i am poor and even $400 wheels is expensive for me. mine are going to be white on my black ek. i like them.
Whos cares what they say. Do waht you want man. Rota is straight. They may make a billion knockoffs but as long as you admit its a knockoff then its all good. What pisses me off the most is that people who have rotas or a fakes will try to tell people its the real deal.

I picked up some rota j spl's for my last GSR. For the money, you can't beat 'em. They have every size, color, model for every taste. When I shop for wheels now, all I look for is rota. Especially for a teg or civic.

Spoon sports made the original rims the slipstreams were copied off of. http://www.inlinefour.com/spoonsw388.html
I don't understand people that buy rims like that to drive on the street. I'd much rather bend a $100 Rota rim than a $450 Spoon one on a pothole. I guess i'm not 'ballin', but i guess if i was i wouldn't be driving a Honda.

Just don't fake the funk. As said earlier before, it's your money and your car. In the end, you're the one driving and looking at your car everyday.
I have Rotas and I love them. I didn't have to sell all of my other possessions to get them either. I have had this similar discussion about guitars. I have a $400-500 Epiphone SG, and I have friends that have like $3000 Gibson SGs. They play almost exactly the same, and they look the same. Why pay more unless you absolutely have the money for it?
because ppl are mad they spent so much money on basically the same thing. same ppl that "have" to have designer clothes. bang for the buck FTW!!!

If they can laugh at you for that, then they better be rolling real Spoons. And be sure to make fun of them if their idea of "real wheels" is Konigs or whatever Pep Boys has on sale. Though, if they are rolling mega $$$ wheels, and you already mentioned your a highschool student, you can always get back at them by swapping out their $2,500 wheels for the $500 Rotas when they're in class, and see how long it takes them to notice. Please note, what I am suggesting is theft, and you should only do so if you are good enough friends to get away with such a practical joke.
And I'm a professional software engineer who could very well afford real Spoons, but refuses to do so. Last time I had an off at the track, I scratched my stock GSR blades something fierce (along with bumper, plastic underside plates, the jackpoints, fender, etc...), and wouldn't risk such an expensive wheel. I am perfectly willing to take my Slipstreams to the track, and could really care less what happens to them. The Azenis mounted on them cost almost as much as the wheels (paid $840 for 16x7 slipstreams with RT-615 Azenis mounted and balanced). Now, if I was going national competitions and was comming in 2nd place by 0.01 seconds, then I might be trying to find ways to spend way too much $$$ for that last ounce of performance. Until then, I want disposable wheels, and slipstreams are cheap, lightweight, and relatively strong.
