The weirdest thing...
I just went to get my 7,500 mile service on my Integra today at the dealership. It also included a wheel rotation. Now the thing is, I got the factory wheel locks on my rims. After I dropped off my car at Acura, I remembered that I didn't give them the adapter to take off the wheel lock. I didn't have their number on me, so I was expecting them to call me to ask me where the adapter was. The funny thing is that they never did and it looks like they didn't need to. I checked out the rims after I got my car back, and they did rotate the wheels. I'm positive they did cause I had scuff marks on the right rear rim (I absolutely suck at parallel parking) and that rim was moved to the front right. I'm just wondering how the hell they took my rims off without the adapter. I mean if they can take off the rims with the wheel locks on them, that just totally defeats the purpose of getting the wheel locks in the first place.

Cliff Notes: Took car in for service, they took off wheels and rotated them without needing the wheel lock adapter, just wondering how the hell they did that.

They have a sort of "skeleton" key.. and yes you dont have to work at a dealership or shop to get them either.. so pretty much it is worthless... unless your dealing with a noob theif that sux and isnt prepared.. theives suck and they will find a way regaurdless
It's a good thing I didn't have to pay for those wheel locks...the salesman threw them in when I was bargaining for my car. Boy I woulda felt stupid if I actually dished out my hard-earned money for them. Is there any way (besides getting a 12 guage) then to prevent your rims from getting jacked?

There is no way to prevent them from stealing it if they really want it. This goes for anything, rims or car. The best thing is to have "layers" of protection. Just use a couple of different wheel locks. Hopefully the thief will think your wheels are too much trouble for them.
