Default JDM Climate control

So I've been "kicked" out of this site before, but let's leave it in the past.

So My A/C is ******* up, I don't feel like spending 300 bucks to fix it.
So I was wondering if I should buy a climate control, I know the wiring and stuff is a bitch, taking the dash out, and all the parts, and wires, the outside temp, light sesor, inside temp, and so on. So I wondered if I get the consol itself, on ebay for cheap, with out all the wirings all the other parts, can I get it to just to turn on? if I hook it up to power, will it light up? All I want is for it to light up and match with the gaugues, I don't care if the A/C doesn't blow, I don't want it to, I just want for the lights to go on and read some random temp.
Thanks in advance guys.

This is what I want it to do

from my understanding if you dont have all the wiring and little parts that are supposed to be with the climate control you will have a hell of a time finding them seperate to actually make it work.

Actually i think that a lot of the parts can be found off of junked acuras. As for the OP's question; I am sure that you can just put a power lead to it and get it to light up but i do not know if it will read as an error without the rest of the sensors or just give you a random temp.

there are writeups of what you need and what you need to do it.
try searching google for the site. it's something like http://www.jrcormier.com/ or something.

I've read that write up before, just like I said. Anyways, if the console works even if it gives me a random temperature like 90 Degrees I could care less, I would want for it to light up and read something, I'm not planning on getting the A/C fixed so I don't need the sensors. and if they are needed to make the control work screw it. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

As I stated, I was "kicked" off the forums because I thought I was being a nice person giving people commetns on their cars and what not. But I learned no one gives a rat's ***, and they got mad so I left for a couple of months got a message saying my % was dropped, so I said ok..sure

I believe that 'pentaq' sells everything you need to make this work including instructions.

So you want it do nothing except make people think you have a JDM climate control? That is a huge waste of money, you are going to have it atleast put forth the effort to make it work. You should be able to get everything including the wiring and whatnot for $300.

The blower will not work because it needs a power transistor instead of resistor mounted in non-JDM climate car.

what a waste of a post.....they sell individual units on ebay like hot cakes.....it's not like they are hard to get

and this is a problem how? you can pick up a transistor anywhere.....it's just harder to get to than the rest of the wires

i've done the conversion, i have all the sensors, everything works on mine and i did all the wiring myself.

what's the big deal if this guy lives in florida with nice weather and none of his stuff works anyway......he can pick up an ebay unit for $50 and at least the unit will look better while it still does nothing

half the people in this thread and many others just speculate and contribute to misinformation........if you don't know the answer or don't have anything worth while to contribute, then stop uping your post count</TD></TR></TABLE>Thanks for all the info man, and just wondering where did you get all the things you needed, to make it fully functional? Ebay? and I will most likely just get the unit since it reads just to have it in you know, not because of anyone thinks, but because I like it.

Ive done the conversion too and gonna say yes it'll prolly light up w/o any other functionality, but cant guarantee. But those thing are like 30 on ebay so it aint no big loss. I still have a few bugs to work out. My systems about 90% functional right now.

I'm still thinking I might just try to do what I want. and leave it weather it works or not. Then I'll probably install everything else to make it fully functional..
