Contact DFE Enterprises in Jacksonville, FL. Phone # is 904-378-4480. Ask for Don (don't call him Donnie or he'll whack you with his cane). He's built quite a few 240+ bhp 1.8L (about 208+ dynojet assuming 13% loss to the wheels).
He's very knowledgeable re multivalve 4 cyl. engines. Many of the smart people here consult with him. Even David Hsu at Skunk2 trades top engine building secrets with him.
If you want awesome theory on color schemes go to ClubSi and get opinions from 4 million users or you can visit TeamIntegra.net and read up on the vast library of technical articles.

I have two suggestions. You can follow either one and be close to your goal
(1) follow the advice given to you by Don's Lackey.
(2) search in this forum. There are plenty of examples of high hp 1.8 L motors.
