Default using timing light?

hey guys, just bought my first timing light and when i went to fix the timing on my car it was way retarded. now i know that when you use the timing light the marks on the pulley has to be in the middle of those two spikes below the cam gear. now my question is which mark is it? theres a white one and a red one and i read the intructions and it didnt say which one. please let me know. thanks

Its not the one thats by itself. Thats TDC I believe. Its the middle one if the 3 that are together. Make sure that the socket it jumped behind the dash and your car is warmed up before checking the timing.
