Default mugen suspension gurus, are these n1 or nz coilovers?

just got this set used, are these nz's or n1's? how many turns can i do on the adjusters? i'm afraid of turning it too much and breaking it. also, can i use 10k and 8k springs on these, or do i have to use stiffer springs to prevent the dampers from burning out? i'd appreciate any feedback you guys can give

I don't think it can tell by just looking at it. IIRC, the adjustments on the rear are different. N1 has 5 "clicks" while the NZ has no click, just turn and count how much you turn.

The best way is to contact King.

hmm, they look similar to my N1's, but not the same.

my N1's are step free on the front and 5 step on the back. you will know when you've got to the limit of the step free, because it stops

Yes, both sets of my NZ's don't have a click. You gotta count turns when adjusting.

Externally the N1 and NZ look very, very similar.

what spring rates do you guys use? actually i have two sets of rear dampers, i'm assuming the one with the 5 step adj is the n1, while the stepless adj is the nz. also i measured both shaft diameters, the nz appears to be bigger by 2mm

Are there any stickers with part numbers on them?

The latest generation of NZ and N1 shared all the same components except for internal valving there for it is going to be difficult to tell just by looking at them. I suggest sending them to someone with a shock dyno. That will tell you two things:

1) Which set they are
2) If you need to rebuild them

There should be 7 ~ 7.5 full turns of adjustment on both shocks.

C/F = N1 Rear Damper w/ high damper rates. I wouldn't run less than 600lbs/in springs on this shock. Upper end would be 1400 lbs/in.

GT1 = NZ Rear Damper. You can run as low as 300 lbs/in on these dampers. Upper end would be 1000 lbs/in.

Could you pRease provide the suggested front rate ranges too?
