ok I have a 1988 honda civic hatchback ,DX, I-4 SOHC (non-vtec) 16 valve, 4 speed AUTO. Also the car has 220,247 miles on it, plugs have been changed and engine oil. Heres the problem, when the car is in park it idles fine, but when im driving and stop at a light, it wants to turn off so i put in neutral and it idles back to normal. Then today I traveled about 30 miles came home and was doing the same thing. I then put it in drive with the handbrake on and again it wanted to turn off, but everytime I shift it pulls hard or makes a noise (sometimes), then also while in drive with handbrake it did some damn wave movement, like it wanted to take off but then it wanted to turn off. Do i have a bad tranny?? needs a flush?? bad fuel pump??? ANY HELP is appreciated.

have you ever flushed this trans since u owned it? How many miles did you buy it with? If never flushed it needs it. Also you could add some Seafoam Trans Tune to help.
