If you don't know what you are doing, don't even start on it. I would get another door fender and side skirt from the junkyard and get it resprayed.

No bodywork needed there. Buy a new sideskirt and fender, get a door from a junk yard, slap 'er on there and take it somewhere to get painted. If insurance is covering you can probably pocket some cash that you just saved on labor.

even if he did get a new door skin, I don't think he would know how to install it. it needs cutting of the old skin off, preping the door, tig weld the new skin on. The fender can get replaced. New molding. The bottom rail could get straightend up with some hamers.
Find a whole new door hopefully in that color, a new fender. hammer the rail, pop in the new skirt. probably the best for a DIY.
A body shop would just repair that door and fender. It's much quicker.

Yeah I would just pick up new fender, and buy a new door at a junk yard. I'm only saying this because our junk yard here charged $60 for a complete door with out door panel, and used fender goes for $20. but if it cost more in your state, might just wana take it to a body shop.. Just look around and hit up some junk yard who knows you might get lucky
