Default honda b20b with p8r head

hi all im currently in the process of rebuilding a motor below is what im doing and below that is some questions please feel free to answer them

purchased a complete b20b with p8r head from a local wrecker out of jdm smx
its factory 150hp with sh*t cams and a whopping great (joke) 54mm throttle body

im stripping it down and getting bottom end completly balanced and new piston rings
new oem head gasket

now the head is getting a 35 thou skim and im putting in a set of reground cams(out of jdm b20b from orthia) which have 10 deg more duration and 15 thou more lift

im putting on adj cam gears and a type r (62mm) throttle body and it will have type r (96 spec) headers and full exhaust

i have an apexi super afc to play with it

ok now is there anything else i should do/look out for and what hp do you think i will gain from doing this

cheers matt

that motor will respond well to compression and big cams

and deftones is pretty close with that power estimate id say..

how much you can mill depends on the piston. im using RS machines 84.5mm ITR copies and my head was milled about .026 and i think it can go a good amount more. on stock pistons you should be able to mill it alot.

was hoping to go about 60 thou (40 off block and 20 off head) that will give some good compression - oh and anyone know how to check piston to valve clearance before you pull apart the motor??

Find a set of B20Z pistons?! All things equal, IIRC its about .6 diff in compression right there.

no such thing in this side of the world as a b20z - we only have b20b - b20z is a honda america only motor
