today i was pulled over in a 35 and the cop claimed i was goin 68.....he was near his gun and i was goiing with traffic.....right next to a volvo wagon, my friend also got pulled over later by the same cop and he show him the gun.. but he never showed me the gun.....when i go to court can i use this to my advantage? he said it was a zone radar....and it started beepin or somethin. i was in the front of a pack of cars (probab 20) school just got out.. ?

how fast were you going? i dont think he is under obligation to show you...i mean he could have just had the number on his gun from the last person he shot.

 

He doesn't have to show you. Tough luck.

 

Hey only has to show you the gun if you ask. Other then that he does not have to if you ask to see the gun and he does not show you it then you complain to the court.

 

ohh haha i thot he said like the cop pulled a gun on him...my bad! haha

 

i would honesty say i was goin around 55 if that..........i have no reason to lie to u guys and thats really how fast i was going....so since i didnt ask to see the gun should i just pay the fine....$300 ouch...........there goes the turbo dreams....might be sellin a t3/t4 pretty soon lol.........or maybe my car

Doesnt mater if you were going with traffic. Speeding is speeding. Some radar guns have a "fastest lane' feature that can pick out your car even if you are right next to someone else. Or he couldve had laser. Either way, youre stuck.

 

Don' pay it, plead not guilty and head to court, they almost always knock it down or reduce the amount you have to pay. You could also try to take driving class which I think takes points off as well. Good luck1!

 

If you ask to see it, they need to show it. If not, trust me, even if your bangin the judges wife, you'll lose. Slow down.

very very very true, especially here in philly.

heres what you can do. plead not guily, go to court, and try to get a plea bargain like dropping all/some points and a smaller fine (which you can even pay monthly). seems like all the traffic dept cares about is $$$...then again who doesnt. also, if no plea bargain can be set you can ask for certiciation of calibration of the "gun" that the cop used. this might work but it also might get them pissed so act professionally and do NOT talk back or disrespect anyone while in court, you might get away with it.

heres another theory, heard it was used by someone on this board. send the trafffic dept about 5 bucks more and when they send you a check for the difference, never cash it and the case will remain open, theoretically, forever and you will never be assessed points nor will that ticket go on your record. but this way you have to cough up the 300+ bucks. whatever fits you.
