well then your pretty much out of luck....i'm sure nobody stocks spoon trannies on a regular basis.... why do you specifically need a spoon tranny? why can you get a new USDM one from Mike K @ naples acura and put in a JDM or ATS FD

JDM ITR tranny that they wave a Spoon magic wand over.

Makes you very JDM.

I think it's cheaper than a brand new JDM ITR tranny too

I usually let mine go for 1800 shipped, unfortunatley do to the ITR backorder from Acura they sold within a day, I now have 4-5 more on order that should be here in the next month.

wtf, thats wierd. i would assume that a spoon tranny would be MORE than a jdm 98 spec tranny even though theyre exactly the same. the name "spoon" usually bumps up the price

Spoon get them by quantities so they call sell at a lower price. If you get a brand new ITR tranny + 4.785 FD + 4-5 gear , pretty much you are paying way more than a Spoon one.

If they are exactly the same, then why is it matter if it is Spoon or JDM ITR tranny?

I am sure it called Spoon tranny just because Spoon is selling it. I doubt Spoon take the tranny apart to change anything.

Ok, here's the deal on the "Spoon" tranny. They(we) sell the 98 Spec JDM ITR tranny. That is all it is. There are no other mods to it. I have 5 of these incoming in June. Please contact me if you wish to pick one up. It is cheaper than a hook up on a USDM ITR tranny. Thanks.

the spoon tranny has gsr 4th and 5th gears which make the gears very long compared to the jdm itr tranny. if you dont believe me look at the gearing at www.autocrossing.com i have a spoon tranny also, and if i were you i would just get a usdm itr tranny and drop in a ATS 4.9 final drive in it. i have driven that setup and it kicks the spoon tranny's ***. just my 2 cents though.

here is the gearing info.

spoon tranny itr tranny

1st 3.230 3.230
2nd 2.105 2.105
3rd 1.458 1.458
4th 1.034 1.107
5th 0.787 0.848
final 4.785 4.785

so you see there is no real difference i guess

What Trannies are you trying to compare?
Again a Spoon Tranny is a 98 Spec JDM ITR Tranny.

yah.. you're mistaken gsr98vtec.. JDM 98spec ITR = Spoon
98spec ITR uses same 1-3 as US/96spec, with GSR 4th and 5th..
so it goes like this..

98spec/Spoon_____96spec/US
1__3.230_______3.230
2__2.105_______2.105
3__1.458_______1.458
4__1.034_______1.107
5__0.787_______0.848
FD_4.785_______4.400
