Planning to either put in a supercharger or turbo my D16a1 DOHC...money is not an issue because i plan to save up for like 1/2 a year...i know i should just do a motor swap but i dont really want to...so i want to know what would be the best for my money, performance, and all aroun...if i get a turbo i will probably only run like 6 to 8 boost...thanks for the helpp because i never really dealed with forced induction

 

you have to say what you expect out of your car. hp goals, how much you want to spend etc. search and read alot. but tell us what your goals are and how much u want to spend.

 

IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT. IF U WANT HIGH TOP END POWER GO TURBO, IF YOU WANT ALL AROUND GOOD PERFORMANCE WITHOUT THE LAG GO S/C

 

ok...sorry...i do search but i am not sure...because i cannot find anything with my engine...almost all the d series on here are sohc...and i dont know if i should relate it to a zc or what...ok...i guess i am looking for hp gain...willing to spend about 3 grand or so...most of all i want reliabity for the setup and for my engine...thanks

 

The ZC engine responses very well to turbo, just like the LS............

 

But my engine is a DOHC D series...

very similar to the DOHC ZC.
go turbo. easier to find parts for, and a lot of people have done it.
i am a supercharger fan, but i am not aware of anyone supercharging a dual cam D series.

so i buy a whole turbo setup for a zc should it go on just as easy onto a ZC...or any mods neccesary thanks...anyone?

it should. im not familiar with the bolt patterns or ports on the exhaust side.
that would be the only thing holding you up. if theyre the same, it'll work.
