What do i need for VX wheels.
Just got some vx's. the rears fit, but the front dont. I heard you need LX brakes or something? i have a 96EX. How far can you shave the caliper down? i really wanna get these bad boys on there, at some point.. I have searched and most people just say NO, but there has to be a way!! HELP!
I bought vx rims in a hurry thinking they were hx rims.. I sold the vx rims and bought hx rims for the same price. the vx are 9lbs anf the hx 11.5 (if i recall). pretty light in either case and there are some decent value performance 14" tires to choose from which i did not find to be the case in 13". I would sell them.
If you really want to keep them I know you can fit 96-00 si-ex calipers under hx rims by removing 1/8" or so from the bulk of the stock si/ex caliper, mayby the same trick would work for you with the vx if the interferance is slight and in a very thick section of the caliper.
You might be looking at decreased braking performance if you swap out your brakes for something smaller, i do not know. there are a couple of extensive write ups on the subject stickied in HT somewhere going in the other direction (bigger) but there could be some good info there.

mayby you could remove the calipers entirely and just run the front circuit of the master cylender into a expandable resivior of some sort and put some killer shoes in in to those rear drums and give yourself lots of room for braking.
the enkei manufactired honda oem vx and hx loook nearly the same. I think it is drag racing oriented folks who like the vx wheels. i dunno, but you can sell them, and the good brakes you get to keep are really handy in so many real world situations.
are you sure you love your vx rims that much? hx rims are like vx's identical twin sister (or brother) that look just as cool but "put out".
